The correct name of the structure, which is often called the Freedom Tower — World Trade Center (World Trade Center). The new building was rebuilt in the north-western part of the land on which stood the infamous twin towers of the World Trade Center, destroyed by 11 September 2001. The project building height of 541 meters — is the highest in the United States. Interestingly, when the construction of the tower was just beginning, the first steel column at the base of the building pasted large emblem of the American flag and the words: Freedom Tower ( «Freedom Tower»). However, during the ceremony of the installation of the column 19 December 2006 revealed that the blue field with stars is on the right, and the federal laws should be left in any position of the flag. The emblem had to quickly remove and replace it with a new one. Funny thing happened with the idea to make the base of the tower made of reinforced concrete.
